4 X 4 HOURS (16 HOURS) SPREAD OVER 7 DAYS TO INCLUDE WEEKENDS

REPORTING TO: SHOP SUPERVISOR As a member of the retail team within Sheppy’s House of Cider, your passion for food, ability to work well under pressure, work as part of team providing efficient, friendly customer service, with a smile, is key.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Assisting customers with purchases, advising on products and completing till transactions. • Maintaining stock levels and displays to required standards. • Basic food preparation. • Demonstrating exemplary standards of customer service and care.

The role includes: 

• Greeting customers who enter the store and providing excellent customer service. • Stock control, stock rotation. • Being responsible for processing cash and card payments. • Managing queues and meeting customer expectations, up-selling and promoting to increase sales and reduce waste. • Reporting discrepancies and problems to the Supervisor/Manager. • Keeping the deli counters clean & presentable.

• Extensive training in the history of the Sheppy’s Cider Brand • Working within established guidelines, particularly with key brands. • Pricing products and checking pricing accuracy. • Being aware of security within the store (product and cash) and vigilant for shoplifters and fraudulent credit cards etc. • Receiving and storing the delivery of stock. • Keeping up to date with special promotions and creating displays. • Ensuring compliance with all H&S, licensing, food hygiene and other relevant legislation, asking supervisors or managers for guidance if necessary.

Skills required for the job:

• A friendly and engaging personality, a good communicator and able to work under pressure. • Comfortable working with members of the public. • Willingness to learn, take instruction and work under own initiative, supporting other team members with ability to multitask. • Catering experience advantageous. • Assistants will be on their feet for most of the day and may be required to lift large amounts of stock, which will be heavy. • A comprehensive understanding of the products and a keen interest in local food and drink. • Ability to work as part of a team. • High standard of personal hygiene. • Knowledge of till operation and cash handling. • Smart appearance and articulate. • Due to the use of some equipment applicants must be over the age of 18.
