The what’s and the why’s:

Sheppy’s was established in 1816, and since then many things have changed for the Sheppy family. In 1917 the family relocated from Congresbury to Three Bridges Farm, Bradford-on-Tone. This was where Stanley Sheppy began to make cider and where the brand is still located today.

Over the last 100 years the old farm buildings became apple bays, press house and bottling hall, but in time we outgrew these as demand for Sheppy’s ciders increased locally and nationally. In 2014 we invested in new purpose-built production facilities. The new production buildings, including presshouse, processing plant, warehouse and vat houses were completed in 2015. It was then time to look at investing in the visitor side of our business again.

2017 is going to be a very exciting year for Sheppy’s. We are opening Sheppy’s House of Cider and Fine Foods, which will welcome visitors from across the UK and beyond to experience the very best of English cider in the heart of Somerset. The development will offer a unique experience including guided tours and tastings. We also offer an intimate, memorable dining experiences in an old oak vat. Join us in what used to be our old apple bay; sit at our modern, bespoke Apple Bay Bar and enjoy one of our hand-crafted ciders made just metres away.

On selected evenings, we will be opening the doors to our stylish Apple Bay Restaurant. Guests can expect nothing other than exceptional food, service and a beautifully thought-out menu using high quality local ingredients crafted by our experienced Head Chef.

In addition, you will be able to enjoy our beautiful new cider shop, butchery, deli counter and bakery, as well as daytime café dining. The shop will be bursting with locally sourced, quality, handmade food and drinks, and, of course, our award-winning ciders. Furthermore the shop will be the starting point for daily guided tastings and our guided tours.
