Dogs are welcome at Sheppy's but we do request that they are kept on leads. Dog bins are available in the carpark, please use them.

Only assistance dogs are allowed into the House of Cider Farm shop. Well behaved dogs are allowed in our café area there is also outdoor seating where you are able to sit with your dogs.

Please note dogs are not allowed in our orchards at all between 17th August to the end of November for our annual apple harvest.

Why not grab something delicious from the deli then find a secluded spot to enjoy it?

A walk through our orchards is one of the most picturesque experiences you can have. From the spring as our trees blossom and the apples begin to grow through to October and November when we harvest our apples, each month has its own identity and we love to let our customers experience the seasons with us. The colours are exquisite and the sun shining through the trees is a highly memorable experience.

"Plenty for the kids to do with a play park with a couple of Donkeys next door. A large pond you can walk around with lots of ducks. Lovely orchard walks to stretch your legs and see the many varieties of apples grown and great photo opportunities."

Children's Play Area

Enjoy the perfect combination of watching your children play while you enjoy a coffee or even a cold cider.

All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. This area is suitable for children up to age 8. Thank you for your understanding.

Reminder glass and dogs are not allow in our play area for health and safety.

Fun at the Cider Farm. Whether you’re just passing through on your holiday or looking to spend a relaxing afternoon on the farm — we’ve got something for everyone.

Explore the orchards on our Story Trail! Let the kids run wild finding the woodland animals and learn about the woodland animals holiday adventures in a orchard Trail. Along the way, enjoy the sights and sounds of nature designed to delight children aged 3 - 8.

Walking around our orchards sometimes can get very muddy we recommend wearing wellingtons or walking boots. A clipboard or something to write on is also a good idea. (you are given a pencil)

Dogs are now welcome in our orchards (until the 17th of August) and so is our café area in the House of Cider. Dogs must be kept on leads in all areas of the farm.

Kids Picnic Box includes: Mini pork sausage rolls or cheese and onion rolls, apple or banana, fruit bar, carton of juice, mini chocolate brownie (apologises we are un able to cater for all dietary requirements) we do sell vegan and gluten free items in the farm shop and café which you can purchase on the day.

Join us for the Big Butterfly Count!

As part of our partnership with the Bumblebee Trust and A Bug's Life, we're excited to be taking part in the Big Butterfly Count 16^th July – 9^th August, inspired by the work of Sir David Attenborough.

This fun, family-friendly activity has been linked with our Holiday Children's Trail in the orchards, giving young explorers the chance to discover the wonderful butterflies, bees, and other wildlife that call our orchards home.

Keep your eyes peeled, count the butterflies you spot, and help contribute to an important nationwide survey of these beautiful insects. You can collect your free sheet from our Farmshop.

Have you captured a wonderful wildlife moment on the farm?

We're looking for your best photos of birds, butterflies, bees, bugs, and any other wildlife you've spotted during your visit. Whether it's a colourful butterfly resting on a flower, a busy bee at work, or a bird perched in the trees, we'd love to see your photographs!

To enter, simply send us your wildlife photos taken on the farm, open to everyone. We'll share some of our favourites and there may even be a prize for the winning image!

Bumblebee Trust and Buglife

At Sheppy’s Cider, our orchards are at the heart of everything we do. For generations, we have worked alongside nature to grow the apples that create our traditional Somerset cider, and we know that healthy orchards rely on healthy insect populations. Bees, hoverflies, butterflies and countless other pollinating insects are essential partners in helping our apple trees blossom and produce the fruit that fills every bottle and glass of Sheppy’s cider.

Our orchards are more than just places where apples grow — they are living habitats that support biodiversity and provide food and shelter for wildlife throughout the seasons. By encouraging wildflowers, maintaining hedgerows and caring for the natural environment around our trees, we help create spaces where pollinators and beneficial insects can thrive.

These small but vital creatures play a huge role in the future of British orchards and countryside. Without pollinators, many fruit crops would struggle, and the balance of our rural ecosystems would be at risk. That is why we are proud to recognise and support the important work carried out by the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, which helps protect the UK’s wild bumblebees and their habitats, and Buglife – The Invertebrate Conservation Trust, dedicated to conserving the insects and invertebrates that are so important to our environment.

By caring for our orchards and the wildlife within them, we are helping to preserve the landscape, traditions and biodiversity that future generations can continue to enjoy.

Picnics

Throughout the summer you can purchase a picnic hamper online, deli items to pick it up in the shop and find a secluded spot in the orchard to while away the hours.

Please be aware that we do not allow glass in our orchards, we now sell the Sheppy's 200 can, perfect for everywhere. If you have glass you can use one of our picnic benches, by oak tree or in carpark. Or if you want to head into the orchard please ask a member of staff to decant it into plastic.

Orchard walks

We have three sign posted walks to enjoy, 20 minutes (Yellow) and 40 minutes (Red) and 1 hour (blue) which is suitable for dog walkers.

Through out the year we do have cattle grazing in the orchards. The walking routes are sometimes closed to the public, if gates are closed with a sign please do not enter the orchard.
